Method
- Press tofu for at least 10–15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
- Toss tofu with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil until evenly coated.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place tofu in a single layer in the basket.
- Air fry for 12–15 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crisp.
- Meanwhile, in a saucepan over medium heat, combine orange juice, soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
- Once simmering, stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened (2–3 mins).
- Toss cooked tofu in the orange sauce until fully coated.
- Serve immediately with rice, noodles, or steamed veggies.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate tofu in soy sauce and garlic for 30 minutes before air frying.
Adjust sweetness or spice level by changing maple syrup or chili flakes.
Sauce can be made in advance and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
This dish pairs well with jasmine rice or stir-fried broccoli.
