Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1/3 cup hot fudge sauce plus more for topping
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, oil, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan, drizzle with half the hot fudge, then add the rest of the batter and swirl in the remaining fudge.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack. Drizzle with extra hot fudge before serving.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter; it should be slightly lumpy for best texture.
You can use store-bought or homemade hot fudge sauce.
Try adding crushed walnuts for a nutty twist!
