Ingredients

  • 4 Green tea bags Use high-quality loose-leaf green tea or organic tea bags for best flavor.
  • 4 cups Filtered water Hot, just below boiling (about 175°F or 80°C).
  • 1 Fresh lemon Thinly sliced into rounds or wedges.
  • 0.5 Cucumber Thinly sliced into ribbons or rounds using a vegetable peeler.
  • 1 tbsp Maple syrup or agave (optional) Adjust to taste for a hint of sweetness.
  • 1.5 cups Ice cubes For quick chilling and serving.
  • 4 sprigs Fresh mint leaves (optional) Adds herbal coolness and aroma.

Method

  1. Bring 4 cups of filtered water to just below a boil (around 175°F or 80°C) to avoid bitterness in the green tea.
  2. Add the green tea bags to a large heat-safe pitcher or container. Pour the hot water over the tea and let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on how strong you want the tea. Avoid oversteeping to keep the flavor smooth.
  3. Remove the tea bags and discard. Stir in maple syrup or agave if desired while the tea is still warm so it dissolves evenly.
  4. Allow the brewed tea to cool to room temperature, then transfer to the fridge to chill for at least 1 hour (or add ice to speed up).
  5. Before serving, add sliced lemon, cucumber ribbons, and mint sprigs to the chilled tea. Stir gently to infuse the flavors.
  6. Fill glasses with ice, pour over the infused tea, and garnish with extra lemon slices and mint. Serve cold and enjoy!

Notes

• Use English cucumbers for thinner, less bitter skin. • For stronger lemon flavor, gently muddle a few slices before adding. • Green tea can be brewed ahead of time and kept in the fridge for up to 3 days before infusing. • Optional additions include fresh ginger slices, hibiscus petals, or a splash of sparkling water for fizz. • This drink is perfect for hydration, digestion, and antioxidant support — especially during warmer months.
