- 1 lb Ground beef 80/20 lean-to-fat ratio preferred
- 2 Chipotle peppers Minced from a can of chipotles in adobo
- 1 tbsp Adobo sauce From the same can
- 1 tsp Smoked paprika
- 1 tsp Ground cumin
- ½ tsp Garlic powder
- ½ tsp Onion powder
- Salt and pepper To taste
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 Burger buns Optional toasting
- Optional toppings Cheese lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo
Make the Chipotle Mix:
In a small bowl, mix together the minced chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Prepare the Beef:
In a large bowl, gently mix the ground beef with the chipotle mixture and Worcestershire sauce. Don’t overmix.
Form Patties:
Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties. Press a slight indent in the center of each to prevent puffing.
Preheat Grill or Skillet:
Bring your grill or pan to medium-high heat. Lightly oil if needed.
Cook Patties:
Grill or sear the patties for 4–5 minutes per side or until they reach your desired doneness. Add cheese in the last minute if using.
Toast Buns:
Toast burger buns face-down on the grill or skillet until golden (about 1 minute).
Assemble Burgers:
Stack your patties with toppings of choice—chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onion work great.
Serve Hot:
Serve immediately with sides like fries, slaw, or grilled veggies.
-
You can substitute ground turkey or plant-based meat if preferred.
-
Leftover patties store well in the fridge for up to 3 days—just reheat gently.
-
For a milder version, use only 1 chipotle pepper.
